What I do when my body speaks

Because I see illness as feedback, not failure, I don’t wait for things to become dramatic before I respond.

I pay attention to early signals.

A cold.
A cough.
Body aches.
Unusual fatigue.
Mental heaviness.
Emotional irritability.
A sense of being “off.”

To me, these are not inconveniences to push through.
They are messages.

And when I receive them, this is how I respond.

Step One: I Pause

(Always)

The first thing I do is stop pushing.

I slow my schedule.
I cancel what can be cancelled.
I rest without guilt.

I don’t treat fatigue as weakness.
I treat it as intelligence.

Energy cannot restore itself when it is constantly overridden.

Step Two: I Simplify My Inputs

When my body shows signs of stress or illness, I reduce everything that adds burden.

I simplify food.
I simplify information.
I simplify interaction.

I naturally move away from:

  • Packaged and processed foods
  • Sugar and heavy meals
  • Constant screen exposure
  • Noise, stimulation, and emotional clutter

And I return to:

  • Warm, simple, nourishing foods or light meals
  • Hydration
  • Silence
  • Early sleep

This isn’t discipline.
It’s respect.

Step Three: I Create Space Through Fasting or Light Eating

When I feel congestion — physical or energetic — I give my system room to breathe.

Sometimes that looks like:

  • Short fasting windows
  • One simple meal a day
  • Broths, soups, or liquids
  • Letting digestion rest

I don’t see fasting as deprivation.
I see it as space-making.

When digestion quiets, energy reallocates.
Clarity often follows.

Step Four: I Clear, Gently but Intentionally

I believe the body holds onto what it hasn’t had the chance to release.

So when signs appear, I support clearing.

This may include:

  • Periodic cleansing practices I resonate with
  • Supporting gut balance
  • Reducing fungal or microbial overload when I sense it
  • Encouraging elimination through hydration, movement, sweating

I don’t do this aggressively or constantly.
I do it cyclically, intuitively, and with attention.

Clearing is not about fighting what’s inside.
It’s about removing what no longer belongs.

Step Five: I Reduce Environmental & Energetic Noise

When the body is under stress, I look beyond food.

I ask:

  • What am I exposed to daily?
  • What am I absorbing emotionally?
  • What environments drain me?

I consciously reduce:

  • Excessive screen time, especially at night
  • Synthetic fragrances and harsh products
  • Overexposure to devices
  • Emotionally heavy conversations

And I increase:

  • Natural light
  • Fresh air
  • Quiet
  • Music, chanting, or soothing sound
  • Time alone

Energy restores in stillness.

Step Six: I Listen Emotionally

This is non-negotiable for me.

Whenever my body signals distress, I ask:

  • What have I been carrying silently?
  • What am I suppressing?
  • Where am I not being honest with myself?

I write.
I cry if needed.
I let emotions move.

I don’t believe emotional tension disappears when ignored.
I believe it settles into the body.

Clearing energy means allowing truth to move.

Step Seven: I Return to Maintenance, Not Control

Once balance returns, I don’t cling to extremes.

I return to:

  • Simple, nourishing meals
  • Gentle movement
  • Regular pauses
  • Conscious choices
  • Clean personal care products
  • Emotional check-ins

This is how I maintain a clear energy terrain — not through perfection, but through ongoing listening.

The Belief That Guides All of This

I don’t believe the body needs to be forced into health.

I believe it responds to:

  • How we live
  • How we eat
  • How we feel
  • What we tolerate
  • What we ignore

When I listen early, I rarely need to respond dramatically.

And when I don’t listen, my body speaks louder.

So I choose to listen.

Not from fear.
From trust.

This is how I keep my energy clear.
This is how I respond to signs.
This is how I stay aligned with my body — not against it.
